What We Do

Robert B. Hendrick & Sons Co., Inc. is a private consulting engineering firm established in 1975.  Previously known as Hendrick & Hendrick Engineers (est. 1957), our firm provides clients with complete engineering services in the areas of roadway, bridge, traffic, and general civil engineering design.

We provide sound design and detailing services for clients on all projects.  With over 55 years of design experience, our engineers have been involved in the design of over 300 miles of roadway and over 80 bridges in the state of Oklahoma.  We strive to provide our clients with the most economical and most functional design possible.

We have a tremendous amount of project experience from small city streets to large limited access highways and everything in between.  We have worked on federal projects, state projects, county projects, city projects and private projects.  Our projects typically involve multiple design issues such as grading, drainage, surfacing, bridge, striping, signing, traffic signalization, railroad crossing, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation, construction traffic control, and others.  We also assist in private developments and loan closing surveys.

What's New?

• July, 2008 - Independence Place - Fort Sill at 3502 East Gore Blvd. in Lawton is now open and accepting leases!  Construction has been completed on not only the apartment community but also the adjoining street and retention pond, also designed by Hendrick and Sons.  Check out Independence Place's myspace page!

• June, 2008 - Construction has started on the improved Duffy Street railroad crossing in central Norman.  The obsolete railroad signals at Duffy Street will get replaced by new signals with gate arms, and Duffy Street will gain a barrier curbed median in compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration's quiet zone rules.  In addition, Legacy Trail will be extended to the intersection of Jenkins Avenue and Duffy Street.  It will later be connected to the University of Oklahoma through further improvements in the future. 

• January, 2008 - Construction has begun on 36th Avenue West and Main Street in west Norman.  The road improvement and access management project is scheduled to be completed by Thanksgiving of this year, in time for holiday shopping at Sooner Fashion Mall.  The contractor is Schwarz Paving of Oklahoma City. 

• September, 2007 - Construction begins this month on 24th Avenue SE between Highway 9 and Lindsey Street in east Norman.  The project is combined with a bridge replacement and improvement project on Lindsey Street between Oakhurst and 24th Avenue SE.  Allen Contracting is scheduled to complete the project in 13 months.

• August, 2007 - Construction on Flower Mound Road between Cache Boulevard and Rogers Lane has successfully been completed.  Flower Mound Road is now a 5-lane divided roadway from Lee Boulevard all the way to Rogers Lane in east Lawton.

• April, 2007 - Hendrick & Sons received recognition at the Oklahoma branch of the American Concrete Pavement Association's annual pavement awards.  Flower Mound Road between Cache Road and Gore Blvd., designed by Hendrick & Sons, was selected as a finalist in the category of "Municipal Streets and Intersections Greater than 30,000 Square Feet".
